Requirements
You should use a Bill of Sale in Oklahoma if you’re buying or selling a car (or any vehicle), a boat, a gun/firearm, a motorcycle, or a horse. You must obtain a title within 30 days of purchasing a vehicle.
Language & Copy Requirements
- Language: Oklahoma has no language requirement for a bill of sale, but documents are only provided in English. You may use a state-certified translator for translation.
- Copies: For motor vehicles or boats, three copies are needed: one for the Oklahoma Tax Commission’s Motor Vehicle Division, and one for both the buyer and seller. For other sales, two copies are sufficient: one for the buyer and one for the seller.
