A Georgia trailer bill of sale is a document used to record the sale of a trailer between private parties. While not typically mandated by state laws for registration purposes, it is still highly recommended. It is advisable for both the buyer and seller to retain copies of the bill of sale as they serve as evidence of the ownership transfer.

Exemptions
A Georgia trailer title registration is not required if:
- The vehicle was made in 1962 or earlier

- It is an all-terrain or off-road vehicle
- It is a boat trailer
- It is homemade

In addition, title registration is optional in some situations. You may title a trailer if:

- The owner on the front of the title has transferred ownership to a dealer, who then transferred ownership to you
Special Requirements/Inspections
Georgia does not have a safety inspection requirement for trailer registration. If you wish to register a title for your new trailer, you can go through the process, pay the registration fee, and receive a registration. A safety inspection can be a good idea to ensure your trailer will be worth the investment. However, it is not legally required.
